About the original
Willy Breitling developed a wrist chronograph with a circular slide rule in 1952, so that pilots could do flight calculations on the watch. Two years later the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) named it its official timepiece. The name is short for "navigation timer".
The current B01 Chronograph 43 keeps the slide-rule bezel and three sub-dials, with a flatter slide rule and a domed crystal. The 43 mm case holds the Breitling 01 chronograph movement, with a 70-hour power reserve.
