About the original
Jaeger-LeCoultre says the Reverso was launched in 1931 as a swivelling watch, after businessman Cesar de Trey asked for a way to protect a watch glass during polo matches. The case could be flipped over in its frame. Jaeger-LeCoultre describes the design as Art Deco.
The Reverso Tribute Monoface follows the 1931 design codes: a rectangular case with horizontal gadroons, a railway-track minute marker, applied trapezoidal hour markers and Dauphine hands. In steel it is 40.1 x 24.4 mm (length x width) with the hand-wound Calibre 822. The maker says the reverse side can be engraved or decorated.
