About the original
The GMT-Master line began in 1955 with the 6542, a navigation tool for Pan American World Airways pilots. It continued through the 1675 (1959 to 1980) and the 116710 (2007 to 2018). The 126710BLRO, known as the Pepsi, was introduced at Baselworld 2018 with a red and blue bezel. The black and blue 126710BLNR followed as a separate reference. The left-handed 126720VTNR, known as the Sprite, was released in April 2022.
The GMT function shows a second time zone, read against a 24-hour bezel. The sources describe the current references as using the caliber 3285, a true-GMT movement with a 70-hour power reserve. The design centres on the two-colour Cerachrom bezel, the steel case, and the Oyster or Jubilee bracelet with an Oysterlock clasp.
