About the original
Rolex introduced the Perpetual 1908 at Watches and Wonders in 2023. It replaced the Cellini range and takes its name from 1908, the year Hans Wilsdorf came up with the Rolex name. It is a time-only dress watch in 18k yellow or white gold, 39 mm wide and 9.5 mm thick, on an alligator strap.
The design has a domed fluted bezel, a matte dial with applied Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9, a small seconds counter at 6, and gold hands with an open circle on the hour hand. A sapphire back shows the new Caliber 7140, a 4 Hz movement with a 66-hour power reserve.
