About the original

The 1963 name comes from the year the first prototypes of the ST19 movement family were built at the Tianjin Watch Factory, with the aim of making chronograph wristwatches for China's air force. The company took the name SEA-GULL in 1992.

The 38 mm reissue is a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph (ST1901, built from the Venus 175 design) with a polished steel case and, in the classic version, a champagne dial with gold-tone applied indices and blued hands. Many third-party brands build their own versions around the same movement.
