About the original
The Monster is a line of Seiko automatic divers known for a bezel that sits low in the case, shielded by a shroud that grows out of the lugs, and for shark-tooth style hour markers. Earlier Monsters used large triangular markers and were heavier and thicker than the current one.
The SRPD25 is the fourth generation. It is smaller than the long-running second generation (43 x 14 mm) at 42.4 x 13.4 mm, swaps most shark-tooth markers for rectangular ones, and comes on a steel bracelet. The SRPD27 is the rubber-strap version of the same watch.
