About the original
The Royal Chronometer ref. 2215 was made from 1975 to 1977. It was Vacheron Constantin's first steel sports watch with an integrated bracelet, made in the years after the Royal Oak (1972) and the Nautilus (1976), and the ref. 222 followed it in 1977. The "Chronometre Royal" name itself was registered in Switzerland in 1907.
The watch is a 37 mm steel octagonal tonneau with a gently concave bezel, a vertically brushed silver dial with baton hands and markers, a date at 6 and an integrated three-link bracelet. It uses the self-winding calibre 1096. This is a vintage reference: Vacheron Constantin sells no current re-edition of it.
