About the original
The Pilot Type 20 is a tribute to Zenith's aviation history, which includes the 1909 Channel crossing by Louis Bleriot. Zenith made a pilot watch for him in the 1910s, and the Type 20 design draws on early pilot watches with large Arabic numerals and cathedral hands.
The bronze Extra Special was introduced in 2015 with a black dial, and a matte blue dial version followed in 2019. It has a 45 mm case with a titanium caseback, an onion-shaped crown, luminous numerals, no date, and the in-house Elite 679 automatic with a 50-hour reserve.
