Reviewers liked the finish and the design, and two found the printed lume very good for a printed dial. The brushed and polished lugs, the mesh bracelet with its clasp, the clear dial print and the strong C3 lume were praised, and the watch was found compact and comfortable on 6.2 to 7.5 inch wrists. They describe the design as following the Serica 5303, with a date window added and a more common automatic movement in place of the original's. One reviewer noted that the original also has a sterile dial, which is why the IXDAO looks so close to it.

Four of the eight reviewers found a bezel alignment fault, in different places: one click off, off at 6 o'clock, the 3 o'clock markers sitting slightly low, and the lume pip a hair right of 12; two others found their bezel lined up. Two found the PT5000 gritty or stiff when winding, while two others ran it with no winding trouble, and hacking and hand winding worked on both of their units. One reviewer measured 38.8 mm across with calipers against the brand's 40 mm, while another got 40 mm. The mesh bracelet was described as slippery and, on a loose fit, as pulling arm hair.
