Why it scores as it does
Proportions and movement are computed from specs. Design details and functions are judged from the brand's official images. How we score
Lug-to-lug is neither published nor measured for one of the two watches, so there is not enough data to score.
Proportions— / 30
- Case diameter0.8 / 122.8 mm apart
- Lug-to-lug0 / 8Not published, left out
- Thickness4.5 / 60.8 mm apart
- Lug width0 / 4Not published, left out
Design signatures— / 40
- Rounded octagonal bezel10 / 10Fixed bezel with a rounded-octagonal outline, brushed top and polished facets where the rounded edges meet, as seen in the front view.
- Dial with embossed Aquanaut pattern running to the strap10 / 10Embossed grid of raised blocks across the dial, clearly the same idea as the original's pattern; the blocks are cut as a squared grid rather than the original's rounded pattern.
- Composite strap in a matching colour3.5 / 7Rubber strap in the dial colour with a block pattern that echoes the dial, but it is a cut-to-size FKM rubber strap, not the original's composite material.
- Applied numerals and baton hands with white luminescent coating2.5 / 5Applied Arabic numerals and baton hands with lume, but the lume glows blue-green (BGW9) where the original's is white luminescent coating, and the hour hand is a faceted tapered baton.
- Sunburst dial with black-gradient rim4 / 4Sunray dials darken towards the rim on the black, blue and brown versions.
- Alternating polished and satin-brushed case finishes4 / 4Brushed top and flanks with polished chamfers on the lug edges.
Functions and materials— / 20
- Complications0 / 8No date window; the original has a date at 3.
- Bezel action4 / 4Fixed bezel; the original's record describes a plain octagonal steel bezel with no rotating action.
- Case and bezel materials4 / 4Stainless steel case (316L) as on the original's steel reference.
- Crystal shape and date window2 / 4Sapphire with AR coating and no date window; the original record lists no crystal type, so only the sapphire is comparable.

What reviewers and owners say
Reviewers
From 3 reviews we read or watched, 2 of them with a watch supplied by the brand.
Three reviewers handled the WD008 and agree on its main strengths. It is very slim, with two measuring the thickness at 8.9 mm with calipers against the brand's 8.85 mm, and light on the wrist. The case finishing, the sapphire crystal and the embossed dial were praised, and the lume was rated better than expected for a dress-leaning watch. The third reviewer called it a good grab-and-go watch with a thin, flexible and comfortable integrated strap.
The complaints are small. One reviewer found the two halves of the butterfly clasp did not sit perfectly flush and that the clasp is unsigned, while another found the clasp comfortable, branded underneath, and thought its sharpness had been exaggerated online. The strap is cut to size, so a mistake cannot be undone. Others noted there is no date, that the strap is not tool-free to swap, and that one case edge feels slightly sharp in hand. Two of the three watches were supplied by the brand and one was bought.
Good
- Very thin at 8.85 mm, confirmed by two reviewers with calipers
- Sapphire crystal and screw-down crown for the price
- Embossed grid dial and a matching rubber strap in the dial colour
- Lume rated better than expected for this style
Less good
- No date window
- Clasp halves do not sit perfectly flush and the clasp is unsigned, per one review
- Strap is cut to size, so it cannot be undone once trimmed
- Strap swap needs tools: no quick-release bars, per one review
- One case edge feels a little sharp in hand, and other straps sold for this style do not fit the 20 mm integrated strap (one reviewer)
