Reviewers who handled the WD1863 liked the case and bracelet finishing for the price, the bubble sapphire crystal and the clear, legible dial. Two found it wears smaller than its 41 mm mid-case suggests because of the 46 mm lug-to-lug and the bezel sitting inside the case.
The criticisms differ by reviewer. One wanted a ceramic bezel insert while another preferred aluminium, as on the original. Opinions on glare from the domed crystal and on lume duration also differ. One reviewer, on an earlier build, found a loose push-pin bracelet with sharp edges and a chronograph hand that reset slightly off 60. The current listing describes a screw-pin bracelet. A 24-hour sub-dial replaces an hour counter.
