About the original
Hanhart built the 417 from the mid-1950s as the first pilot's chronograph for the new German armed forces. It supplied the model for almost ten years, until the company turned to hand-held stopwatches in 1963. Surviving originals are sought after by collectors.
The current 417 ES follows that watch closely: a fluted bezel with a red marker, registers at 3 and 9 o'clock, evenly spaced pushers and a domed sapphire crystal. The Heritage Flyback adds the hand-wound AMT5100 M flyback movement and a red pusher made of HyCeram.
