About the original
The Murakumo is the first watch from Kikuchi Nakagawa, a Japanese maker founded by watchmaker Tomonari Nakagawa and designer Yusuke Kikuchi. It is modelled on the Patek Philippe ref. 96 Calatrava of the 1930s, in a 36.8 mm steel case that is 8.5 mm high.
The dial is grained matte black with Breguet numerals, an oversized recessed seconds sub-dial and a sharp minute track. The spade hands are shaped in three dimensions and black polished. The sapphire crystal is box-type and domed, and the strap is crocodile leather on 22 mm lugs.
