About the original
The original Seiko Turtle is the 6306 and 6309 divers, which appeared in 1976. The 6306 was sold only in Japan and the 6309 abroad. The name comes from the cushion-shaped case with softly rounded lugs, which looks like a turtle from above.
Seiko revived the shape in 2016 with the SRP777. The SRPE93 is the later version of that watch. It keeps the cushion case, the bold hand and marker shapes and the 4:30 crown, uses the 4R36 movement and is rated to 200 m. Its main dial change from the SRP777 is a small lume pip beside the date window.
