What reviewers and owners say
Reviewers
From 8 reviews we read or watched, 3 of them with a watch supplied by the brand.
Eight reviewers handled the PD-1751. They describe a compact case of 36 to 37.5 mm with a short lug-to-lug of 43.5 to 44.3 mm, 20 mm lugs and a thickness of 13.2 to 13.9 mm because of the tall domed box crystal, which rises above a fixed bezel. The crystal tested as sapphire for two of them, as did the exhibition back, and one found plenty of blue anti-reflective coating. Seven reviewers say the movement is a Seiko NH35 rather than the Miyota the brand lists, and they show hacking and hand winding. They praise the case finishing, which several say is a step up for the brand, and the solid end links, screw-pin bracelet and signed clasp; two found the clasp micro-adjust awkward to reach.
The lume is the main complaint: three reviewers call it weak, with the hands fading fast, while one found it much better than on other models from the brand. One reviewer says the polished case sides, bezel and bracelet differ from the brushed finish of the original. Reviewers are generally positive on value.
Good
- Compact 36 mm case with a short lug-to-lug of about 44 mm
- Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment per the brand
- Time-only black dial with no date window
- 20 mm lugs take standard straps
- Offered on a bracelet or a leather strap
- Case finishing and brushing praised by several reviewers as better than earlier models from the brand
Less good
- Reviewers report a Seiko NH35 where the brand lists a Miyota 8215
- Reviewers measure 13.2 to 13.9 mm thick against the brand's 12.5 mm
- Brand does not publish lug-to-lug or lug width
- Lume is weak and fades quickly, per three reviewers (one found it good)
Known quality issues
Each reported by at least two independent sources.
- Three reviewers found the lume weak on the hands and indices, with the hands fading first; a fourth found his unit's lume very good.
