What reviewers and owners say
Reviewers
From 9 reviews we read or watched.
Reviewers found the S382 good value for its price. They liked the thin case, the polished finishing, the dial colours and typography, and the supplied strap with quick-release bars. The lugs are drilled, so any strap fits, and reviewers measured lug to lug at about 47 mm and thickness near 9.3 mm.
The complaints are consistent. The movement does not stop the seconds hand when the crown is pulled, the crown is push-pull rather than screw-down, and the lume on the thin minute hand is weak, though one reviewer found it strong. Four reviewers report mineral glass rather than sapphire in the exhibition back (three of them tested it). Reviewers describe the design as following the Nomos Tangente, and one reviewer who tested the movement on a timegrapher found it ran about 4 seconds fast a day. Four more reviewers, who all bought the watch, agree on good value. They differ on fit: one found the long lugs push the 38 mm case to the limit for a smaller wrist, another found the lug-to-lug reasonable, and a third saw a small gap between strap and case. One of them says his unit ran a minute or two fast a day, without timing it.
Good
- Thin 9.5 mm case for an automatic
- Sapphire front crystal on a budget dress watch
- Polished case with drilled lugs and a quick-release strap
- Six dial colours, with an orange seconds hand
- Lume on the hands and dots, unlike the original
- Bright, simple lume on the hands and markers per one reviewer, thick quick-release leather strap
Less good
- Seconds hand keeps running when the crown is pulled out (no hacking)
- Push-pull crown, no screw-down
- Exhibition back glass reported as mineral, not sapphire
- Lume on the minute hand is weak per several reviewers
- Hands are silver rather than the original's blue
- Long lugs: reviewers differ on fit, one saw a small gap between strap and case
Known quality issues
Each reported by at least two independent sources.
- The exhibition back glass is reported as mineral rather than sapphire (three reviewers tested it, one states it), although the case back is engraved 'Sapphire'.
